Pablo Pardo is the Deputy bureau chief of El Mundo (Spain’s largest daily newspaper). He has been in the U.S since 2005. He is also the occasional contributor to The Weekly Standard, The Miami Herald, and BBC Radio. He has a M.A. in International Relations from the School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) of Johns Hopkins University. He also studied at the London School of Economics (Summer 2000), in the University of Columbia (seminar for business journalists, March-April 2001), and in IESE (Spain; seminar for business journalists, April-June 2001). He is also pursuing his Doctoral studies at the University of Navarra (Spain).

Prior to coming to the US, he worked in Expansion, Spain’s largest financial newspaper, from 1992 to 2002. He has covered the IMF and World Bank Assemblies since 1994, the Davos World Economic Forum from 1998 to 2002 and the G20 summits of Washington and Pittsburgh (and soon Ottawa and Seoul). He also worked in the Social market Foundation, a London-based think-tank, on the enlargement of the European Union, under the supervision of John Skidelsky. He also contributed to New America Foundation’s Peter Bergen’s book ‘The Osama bin Laden I Know’ (Free Press, 2006). He is also the recipient of three awards to for his work as a journalist in Spain (Citigroup Excellence Award, Young and Bright, for the best financial journalist 35 or younger, and Centennial of Social Security).
