Benedikt Signer – Past President

07af43fBenedikt works in the World Bank’s Disaster Risk Financing and Insurance Program, assisting countries in better planning for meeting the cost from natural disasters and climate shocks. Previously he worked in the World Bank’s Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery on partnerships and strategy where he focused on program strategy, cooperation with donors, and international policy such as engagement with the G20. Prior to GFDRR Benedikt has worked in the Delegation of the European Union in Washington, with a think tank in London, as well as for a human rights organization in Guatemala. A dual Swiss-Austrian national Benedikt holds a Master’s degree in Global Politics from the London School of Economics and a BA in International Relations from the University of Birmingham.
